Course Topics
The course develops the following skills from the graduate competency profile: - Understanding and supporting students in the use of augmentative and compensatory strategies and tools in the case of specific learning disorders (SLD); - Creating 'barrier-free' texts and other educational materials, for example according to the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach.

Teaching format
The course alternates between face-to-face lectures, exercises differentiated by school grade and the production of learning materials and learning units designed individually or in small groups.

Knowledge and Understanding - Understand the characteristics of the main specific learning disorders - Know compensatory tools and strategies - Understand the features of 鈥渂arrier-free鈥� educational materials Applying Knowledge and Understanding - Be able to design educational activities to support the use of compensatory tools and the development of compensatory strategies - Be able to identify barriers in educational materials and improve their accessibility Making Judgements, Communication Skills and Learning Skills - Be able to critically reflect on the potentially marginalizing and excluding effects of compensatory tools

Assessment
Delivery of a portfolio of products produced during the course.
