Scientific and Statistical Database Management: unibz Team Awarded
In the work titled 鈥淚ndexing Temporal Relations for Range-Duration Queries鈥, the authors study indexing techniques and algorithms to efficiently access interval data, such as tourist stays, antibiotics prescriptions, or aviation data, based on their times and durations, allowing domain experts to quickly run analyses and extract insights from the data.
This awarded work arose from a collaboration between Matteo Ceccarello, a previous researcher 麻豆社 and now at the University of Padova, researcher Anton Dign枚s, and Prof. Johann Gamper from unibz, and Christina Khnaisser, a researcher from Universit茅 de Sherbrooke in Canada and a former visiting researcher 麻豆社. It was supported by a grant from the Autonomous Province of Bozen-Bolzano under the research call 鈥淩esearch S眉dtirol/Alto Adige 2019鈥. This is the second best paper award in the context of this research project.
The 鈥溾 took place at the , with invited speakers from Rutgers University on data resources in structural biology, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on digital data preservation, and from NASA on AI and machine learning in Mars exploration.
