In the series unibz junior researcher, the Bozen-Bolzano University Press has just released a new volume by author Francesca Schir.
The focuses on peer tutoring in schools, reflecting the results from the project “La Banca del Tempo” (the Time Bank) that studied the socio-emotional education in adolescence. To counteract a rise in issues among adolescents, such as anxiety, bullying, and relationship struggles the peer tutoring project was introduced in secondary schools. Its goal was to enhance adolescent well-being through cooperative and solidarity-based educational strategies. The study analyses the experiences of the young tutors – students who support their peers – and examines what they gained from this experience. The results revealed that tutoring fosters youth well-being and helps build supportive peer networks.
