The Laboratory of Children’s Literature (ChiLiLab) is an aesthetic-literary space dedicated to children’s literature, reception, and didactics, opening up opportunities for (multi)lingual, literary, and aesthetic learning processes. It is situated within the fields of research, teaching, and the Third Mission and is internationally networked.
The aim of its qualitative-empirical and literary research is to explore the relationships between theory and practice, literatures and languages, and text and image. Teaching focuses on multimodal, intermedial, and multilingual children’s literature, selected according to criteria of experiential learning and aesthetic-literary narration.
Within the Third Mission, the series of events organized as part of the Literature Forum fosters connections with the literary community. The spatial design is flexible and open, creating real spaces for read-aloud sessions, storytelling, and performance, as well as fictional spaces for imagination.
