"Conducting Bibliometric and Systematic Literature Reviews” is a course designed for PhD students who want to learn how to use quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate and synthesize the scientific literature in their research domains.

Argomenc dl curs
The course covers the theoretical and practical aspects of bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review, including data collection, data processing, data analysis, data visualization, and report writing. The course also introduces various tools and software, such as bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and PRISMA, that can facilitate and enhance the bibliometric and systematic literature review process. By the end of the course, students will be able to conduct their own bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review, and present their findings in a clear and coherent manner. The course is suitable for students from any discipline who are interested in exploring the state-of-the-art and the trends of their research fields. The course is taught in two modules: • Module 1: Bibliometrics (9 hours) • Module 2: Systematic Literature Reviews (9 hours)

Obietifs formatifs
By the end of this course, students will be able to: • Define the concepts and principles of bibliometrics and systematic literature review and their applications in research evaluation and synthesis • Identify and select appropriate data sources, search strategies, and bibliometric indicators for their research topics • Use various tools and methods, such as bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and PRISMA, to collect, process, analyze, and visualize bibliometric data • Critically evaluate and interpret the results of bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review, and identify the strengths, limitations, and implications of their findings • Write a clear and coherent report on their bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review, following the academic standards and conventions

Sort de ejam
Two individual project works, one for each module: • 50% - Module 1: Written report on the bibliometric analysis of a research topic. • 50% - Module 2: Written report on the systematic literature review of a research topic.

Criters de valutazion
Pass or no pass. NOTE: Both modules’ assessments must be passed to obtain the pass mark.
